FSRM™ – Fellow in Strategic Risk Management
Overview and Benefits of The FSRM Designation

The Fellow in Strategic Risk Management (FSRM™) is a professional designation in Risk Management designed for top and senior managers who by the nature of their position are responsible for managing risks in their organisation.

In today's global and uncertain world, the FSRM™ Designation aim to recognize professionals who be able to combine a detailed understanding of risk management issues at a strategic level with sophisticated leadership, managerial and organizational skills. These `global' leaders/managers are effective in delivering change and securing competitive advantage for their organization and are able to bridge the gaps between the various parts of their organization by using Risk Management. They are the leaders to lead the way to ensure an organization survival and growth in an increasingly complex and volatile business and economic environment.

The Fellows constitute both a group of Experts and a community of where experiences are shared with one another in order to further the development of Enterprise Risk Management as a strategic toolbox that can enhance the long term sustainable economic effectiness of organizations and of the world economic system. It aims to continuously improve enterprise risk management best practices and to set industry standards.

FSRM™ Competencies Assessment Process

The FSRM™ Assessment process consist of 3 essential stages:

Initial Application Review

Applicants are required to complete and submit the FSRM™ application online.

ARiMI Admission committee will review the information to ensure that the applicant meets the eligibility criteria in terms of professional experience and education. Considering other relevant professional experience will be at the discretion of the admission committee.

FSRM™ Credential Assessment & Verification Process

This process will enable the Institute to assess the applicant's credentials and verify them with the referrers.

Required Documents
Applicants are required to submit the following documents:

  1. Paper detailing and documenting their working experience in Enterprise Risk Management and at senior management or board level.
    Any other relevant credentials in risk management, corporate governance or related fields (e.g. quality, process re-engineering, audit, fraud investigation) such as awards received, articles written, research, conference engagement, etc.
  2. 2 Reference letters from independent parties (not family or friends).

 

Practice Papers Assessment

Once the application passes the Credential Assessment & Verification process, the applicant is required to write and submit 2 articles which will be then reviewed to assess the applicant’s level of knowledge and practical understanding of ERM.

Applicants are given a 90-day period to write the 2 articles (45 days for each article) on a relevant risk management issues/subjects.

Each practice paper should take the form of an analytical review of a relevant risk management issue. Each paper should have a length of at least 2,500 words.

The practice papers assessment will be based on a peer review process and for every FSRM™ application, ARiMI will invite 2 recognized ERM experts to assess the various practice papers.

Successful applicants will be awarded the Fellow in Strategic Risk Management - FSRM™

The FSRM™ Program MasterClasses focuses on the critical role senior executives play in managing strategic and operational risks in organizations. The MasterClasses address the Board Member's and Top Management's obligations to ensure the company appropriately recognizes and addresses critical strategic and operational risk-related issues. The MasterClasses focuses on Risk Governance, defining and communicating risk-appetite, designing performance systems and creating and fostering a culture of risk awareness throughout the organization.

FSRM™ Certification Process Fee

The total fee of the FSRM™ is SGD 2,495, which comprised of the followings:

  • SGD 695 Administrative fee for application registration and review
  • A SGD 1,800 Certification fee is required if the Designation is awarded

Optional MasterClasses for FSRM™ Fees

Once you have registered for the FSRM™ Certfication, you will get the possibility to sign up for any of the Optional MasterClasses enjoying a 10% discount on normal fees. If you wish to take advantage of this offer, please contact us

As there are no compulsory courses to follow, you can apply for FSRM™ certification anytime online.

Application Process

To complete your application, you will need to follow the steps outlined below. Your application will only be considered when the ARiMI Admissions Office receives the online application fully completed.

  1. Application Form. All applications to the FSRM™ are submitted online. Make sure to thoroughly complete the Application Form, giving accurate and up-to-date information. You will be requested to attach a photograph to your application.
  2. Motivation Questions. As part of the Online Application Form online there are questions asking you to explain your motivation for applying for the Designation.
  3. Upon review, you will be informed whether your application has been accepted, or not.
  4. Then the next step is the Credential Assessment & Verification. you will need to provide additional information as set in the Required Documentation
  5. If the Credential Assessment & verification is successful, you will be required to write and submit 2 Practice Papers.
  6. Finally if the Practice Papers Assessment is successful, you will be awarded the Fellow in Strategic Risk Management - FSRM™.
