The Learning Journey

The 15 workshop modules are organized into 4-day sessions spread over 4 to 5 months. This modular structure of the program allows participants coming from all over Asia to balance work and study at the same time. The physical time on site represents 15 days as follows:

• Attend 2 foundational certificate modules (CCM1 & CCM8)
• Attend 6 core certificate modules (CCM2 to CCM7)
• Attend 3 risk masterclass modules (RMC1 to RMC3)
• Select & attend 4 elective modules (EKM1 to EKM14)

In addition to the work on campus, there is significant work to be done between sessions, often aimed at applying theory to your practical business needs, equating to a total of approximately 7 weeks of study.

To obtain the Certification, participants are required to pass successfully the different components required to qualify for assessment for accreditation purposes (more information in Section: Program Assessment).

 

Program Assessment

Assessment is necessary to ensure the quality of the graduates by reviewing the candidate's ability to meet the requirements of the professional program.

 
Requirements to be Fulfilled by Candidates Seeking to Obtain CERM™ Certification
1. Attend the 15 required Modules (CCM1 to CCM8)
2. Pass the on-site exam
   • The sit-in exam consists of 45 mutliple choice questions and is administered on site. The time allotted is 1 hour.
3. Submit a Practical Assignment
   • The Practical Assignment consists of 1 field study of 8000-word assignment where participants will have to undertake a field work within their organization or industry, using the methodologies and tools learnt during the program to resolve current issues and demonstrate an understanding of how to create value with ERM for their organizations or clients. The completed field study must be submitted to the Asia Risk Management Institute by email for grading within 6 months after participants have completed all the CCM and RMC modules, while embarking on their 4 selected EKMs. During the preparation of the field study, participants will benefit from a coaching program to support them in delivering a high-level value creation work.
4. Participation and exercises will also be evaluated during the workshops and will count for the final grade

 

Program Certification

Earn dual certifications by NUS Extension and by ARiMI. Upon completion of the program's requirements for the workshop modules, assignments and examination, candidates will be awarded:

• Certified Enterprise-wide Risk Manager (CERM™) Professional Designation by ARiMI
• Professional Diploma in Enterprise Risk Planning & Management by NUS Extension

Program Calendar Overview for 2012

We have several intakes per calendar year. Hence, busy professionals will be able find an intake that suits their work schedules, thus allowing them to plan ahead.

Those who are not based in Singapore only need to make about 4 trips to Singapore.

CERM™ participants are fully responsible for all travel arrangements, accommodation and associated costs.

FLEXIBLE LEARNING PACE to Balance Learning and Working effectively

CERM™ Program requires participants to complete CCM1-CCM8, RMC1-RMC3 and 4 EKMs that are conducted over 4-5 months within 1 session. Participants who need time flexibility may attend and must complete all the required modules within 2 sessions.

Once you sign up for the program, you will be registered in the trimester and group joined at the time of registration. While it is more logical and we encourage you to follow the modules in sequence, we understand that the busy professionals joining the program may have some time constraints and find it difficult to follow the sequence. This is not a problem as the program modular approach allows you to spread the modules you are required to attend for the program over 2 sessions without the need of following any specific sequence. Please contact us for advice on how you could arrange to attend the 15 workshop modules over 2 sessions.
