Delivery Method
The programme is delivered by a faculty of active and highly credentialed practitioners, scholars, skilled educators, groundbreaking researchers, and entrepreneurs. All are experts in a variety of industry backgrounds, including, but not limited to, finance, insurance and risk management.
The seminars enrolment will be limited (between 10 and 15 per class ) and follow a format that fosters interaction and participation from the participants. It includes a multi-media presentation with examples presented to illustrate the topics that are based on experiences in real business and operational activities and management.
Each Master Classes seminar involves 24 contact hours (3 days). Monthly Supervisory visits/reviews during the research project require each supervisor to spend up to 4 contact hours per visit (either in individual sessions or small research groups of 2-3 candidates).
Entry Requirement
1) Hold the ARM designation, or hold a degree from a reputable university preferably with a module in Risk Management; AND
2) At least 10 years of professional experience with 5 years minimum at management level in a position where they have to make decision about managing risks. Other professional experience will be at the discretion of the admission committee.
Assessment Method
Each candidate must pass successfully the exams attached to each of the topics of the advanced seminars before they can start the Research Project leading to the AFARM designation.
The research project leads to a project presentation to be presented to a Jury. The jury will act as an executive committee. The jury chair then acts as a C.E.O. The candidates communication skills both in written and oral forms and his ability to provide a strategic vision will be weighted in the jury decision together with his/her risk management technical knowledge. If unable to reach a consensus decision, the jury will make the decision according to majority rule to award the Asian Fellow in Applied Risk Management (FARM) Designation.
