National University of Singapore (NUS) Extension and Asian Risk Management Institute (ARiMI) are forging a strategic alliance to promote Professional Education in Risk Management

The National University of Singapore (NUS) Extension and the Asian Risk Management Institute (ARiMI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Wednesday, 3 March 2004 , to establish a framework for both institutions to pursue common interests in training and further education in risk management including crisis management, communication, organisational and human risk, and system management. Signatories to the agreement are Mr Koh How Eng, Director, NUS Extension and Mr Marc Ronez, Managing Director, ARiMI.

One of the key programmes to be offered under this collaboration is the Certificate in Risk Management (CRM). This 80-hour programme comprises two modules on Risk Management methodologies, concepts and practices, leading to a Professional Certificate in Risk Management from NUS Extension and CRM designation from ARiMI.  Co-taught by Mr Marc Ronez of ARiMI and Dr Er Jwee Ping, Adjunct Senior Fellow of NUS and Program Director of ARiMI, CRM is also endorsed by the Singapore Risk and Insurance Association (RIMAS).

This course will benefit the growing number of senior managers, business owners, and executives who have to deal with risk management issues by providing them with a greater understanding of today's key issues and best practices in risk management that are of crucial importance in an increasingly complex and volatile economic environment.

“NUS Extension wants to provide quality education in Risk Management for the professionals. This is an emerging subject which is relevant to many industries, in particular, the financial services industry. We found a partner who shares the same mission and level of commitment as us to meet this need,” said Mr Koh How Eng, Director, NUS Extension.

“We are delighted to formalise our working relationship with NUS Extension. We believe our joint collaboration will be the cornerstone for the development of a wide range of programmes in risk management. Our commitment is to deliver programmes steeped in value, opportunity and intellectual stimulation that will answer one's life-long professional development needs,” said Mr Marc Ronez, Managing Director, ARiMI
